I'm more concerned of the rating. I want a R-rated movie not PG-13. :S

I cannot say this enough--I really, really, really, REALLY don't want Kaya to play Katniss. They need an unknown. That's it. Period. ^This! I don't want Kaya to play her either, she is not how I imagined Katniss at all! I suggested Jessica Lowndes (De-Prettied lol) but I am with you an unknown would be my first choice. Hopie it is a book centred around death, so yeah it is pretty violent. However the author writes it so well, that I didn't find any of the deaths (except two or three) disturbing. (I know there is more to the book than death just incase people take what I have said the wrong way)

The deaths were disturbing because we're talking about kids here. Kids killing themselves. That by itself should guarantee an R-rating. Unless they change it to 18 year old ones or somehow erase all the violence.
I really don't want to see these books tamed. There's more than the violence and death, but the books wouldn't have been what they are now without it.

Thanks Minnie. I've never read the series but what you guys say about it sounds intriguing. That's really sad about all the kids though.

When I was talking about how they disturbed me I meant from a reading perspective not what rating they should get as a movie. When I read the descriptions I was a bit scared because as you said it is kids dying you know but for such a horrific concept the author wrote it so well that it wasn't too disturbing or horrific to make it bad if that makes any sense at all lol! In the first book there was only one death that really made me cry and mourn the loss of a character and there was a few more in the last one (A HUGE ONE!) As far as the films are concerned I don't want them tamed either! These books were an emotional and intense rollercoaster for me and I want to feel that when I see it onscreen! ;D

As far as the films are concerned I don't want them tamed either! These books were an emotional and intense rollercoaster for me and I want to feel that when I see it onscreen! ;D Yep. I agree totally. When i talked about the deaths i meant from viewing point. As in the movie. Cause reading something disturbing/bad/scary/disgusting is not the same as watching it. I totally agree about how the author writes. Rue's death was very sad. It wasn't really scary or disgusting or whatever, but seeing that on the screen. 12 year old dying in that way... that's what i was talking about. You can't have a PG-13 movie with kids killing themselves. You can keep an PG-13 rating with using appropriate terminology but you can't do that in a movie. I am so convinced they're gonna eff the books completely.
