Hey Katie, when you say controversial stuff, is there like foul language and sex all through it? Just I have to be careful what books I read that's all. From what i have heard homosexuality is a theme (and as a result sex) and i think it is revealed at the end that the main character has been sexually molested by his aunt for years.

Doesn't necessarily mean anything as this site is not always correct but according to IMDb at the moment a actress by the name of Colleen Dengel has been cast to play Sam www.imdb.com/title/tt1659337/I am confused by that. Mostly because Logan Lerman is not part of that list and he's confirmed himself he's gonna be Charlie. And the author of the book (and movie screenwriter too) confirmed Emma will be playing Sam. Shame really. Maybe it's the epilogue-reshoots that were the problem, i think she was supposed to do this movie during these holidays. Either way, i wish she'd say something about this once and for all lol.

I got some information on another forum that apparently the character of "Sam" does have a nude scene towards the end of the book but i am personally hoping that it doesn't show anything. More than likely it won't as i think only a minority of nude scenes in Hollywood movies actually show any nudity.
Plus with Emma still in university i doubt she would want the other students having a actual nude photo of her as she didn't seem impressed with the fake ones that were circulating around Brown university a few months ago.

^ You act like she's your gf and you're jealous of everyone seeing her naked lol. She knows what's best for her, and she's an actress. She's not gonna play childish roles forever. No one says a thing. That's what annoys me the most about this. The movie filming is confirmed, so is Emma, but imdb says another thing, Emma (as always) says nothing, the director/writer of the novel says Emma will be Sam.... Go figure.... I guess, we will know if she's in it if we do get some info about her being in Pittsburgh. But yeah, i hope she'll do it.

I just want her to wait a few years before she get naked on screen as it has been to soon since Harry Potter for her to give us the full monty. I personally thought Dan appearing in Equus while he was still filming Harry Potter was a slightly bad choice as nudity is something that a lot of child actors attempt as they try and prove to the world that they are no longer children and more often than not it fails miserably. Its best to wait a few years so it doesn't look like she is trying shed her old image.

That's very wrong about Dan, cause it was Equus that got him out of the Potter role. He wasn't respected as an actor before, he was just another kid-star going Macaulay Culkin's way. Equus made people respect him and it helped seeing him in another thing, not just Harry.
As for Emma, i don't know, but i think supporting roles will do it for her. She wont do it with main roles, not straight away. Supporting but important roles, that's her chance. And her role in MWWM and Perks are just that. Supporting characters, but important ones. And if something ... drastic comes with them, so be it. She will do it sooner or later. Plus, it will be the acting that will decide in the end, not her sex scene. The media will go for the second, but people in the movie industry will see her acting and decide whether she's good or bad or grown up.
