The way i interpreted what Emma's people said is that currently she has no projects and is for the most part enjoying a small break from filming but if a really really good role came up she would be willing to work during one of her breaks from school.
From what her people said it sounds like Perks of Being a Wallflower has fallen though as no current projects in the pipeline means she isn't signed on for any roles and doesn't have a agreement with anyone to do a role when the production is ready.

Summit Entertainment? Twishit production lol. It will ruin it with selling sex.
sorry, i hate everything twi-related
Anyway, i don't really think she'll do it. First, she can't do it in June, second, her reps said she doesn't have any accepted roles. I know this article says they will try and get her to join the movie but i still it's only a publicity talk. Trying to get as many media attention as they can. This movie wouldn't have been half interesting as it is now if Emma wasn't considered for the role.

new article:
Emma Watson's new movie role revealed Emma Watson's post-Potter career is coming along nicely, with the starlet adding another flick, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, to her bulging schedule. By Lucy Hutchings (26 January 2011)
Rather than take some time out following the completion of the magical franchise, Watson has thrown herself into shaping out a movie career beyond Hermione Granger, despite still being a student at Brown University in the States.
Between studies, she's already filmed Marilyn Monroe flick, My Week with Marilyn, alongside Oscar-nominee Michelle Williams, which is tipped to be released later this year.
As for her latest project, Watson has been connected to The Perks of Being a Wallflower since last summer, but the teen flick has just gained funding from Summit Entertainment, which famously owns the Twilight franchise.
Emma has baggged the role of Sam in the coming-of-age story, which is set to be directed by the novel's author, Stephen Chbosky. But don't think this is just Harry Potter without the magic - the hard-hitting tale hits on themes such as teenage sexuality, abuse, and the struggles of adolescence.

Despite the headline Emma still hasn't confirmed her involvement with this movie. Nor she ever will....... At least we learned that whenever she's being quiet about something (not denying it), that something is usually right. She has been very quick with her denying in the past when whatever was written/said was false.

The tweet from her reps could be interpreted as a denial as even a few weeks ago there were plenty of rumours floating around about her being involved in "Perk". If that tweet was designed to squash rumours then it was designed to squash the rumours about her being involved in this movie as i think this is the only movie she is really being linked to at the moment (other than some movie with a tiwlight actor set to come out in 2013).

^ I agree. When you think of it, the tweet quite says it. She doesn't have any role accepted. That's what the tweet said. No role accepted. She's still considering the role (and probably trying to work a schedule for June, since she'll be awfully busy with promoting DH2). Haven't said no, but haven't said yes either. And the tweet was mostly because of the other movie with Taylor. If i am not mistaken, she got lots and lots of tweets and question about that role so she acted. Same with her tweet about 'don't trust everything you read' months ago, when there were some rumours about her and RPatzz doing a movie together.
When something is completely untrue, she says it. When something is possible, she keeps quiet.
Plus, the Perks rumour has been going around for AGES. Like, since the summer? Long before that?
