I DON'T GIVE A DAMN IF YOU CAN'T DECIDE WHICH SIDE WILL WIN (SKATE/JATE) I JUST WANT TO SEE ONE SIDE HAPPENING! END OF STORY! /rant I will be mega pissed if i had to sit through all that crap FOR NOTHING! _ Anyway, i wish Jin would have saved himself because of their daughter.... Guys, quick question, how many episodes until it all ends? When's the air date of the last episode? I'm worried I'm not going to be able to catch up on time. xD I'm only on 6x03. On another note, I bring a vid, made by someone who I'm subscribed to on youtube. I thought it was beautifully made, so I thought I'd come and share it with you guys Just in case, it contains spoilers up until the latest episode of season 6 (though I'm sure you've all watched the most recent episode, better to be safe than sorry). Made by Luthien3333.

3 more episodes Lu. JUST 3 MORE UNTIL LOST IS OVER FOREVER. Booooo.
LOL Katie. I will be thrilled and cheer when/if she's killed. I don't care about the crap they put us through, I think it's fitting if she went boom and didn't choose anyone. I mean she's never really had a purpose on the show and that would be so satisfying. At least for me anyways.

IKR? I loved the episode, but apparently most people hated it. Just shows how everyone watches the show and gets something different out of it. I did think that the kid actors at the beginning were a mistake because they were godawful.

Big build-ups are expected to have big revelations. I guess, with the Jacob/MiB build up over the past season, people expected something really really MAJOR.
Not that the last episode didn't have it.
We got some MAJOR stuff. What smokey is, how it was released, how MiB isn't really smokey, and that J/MiB are brothers, and that they were chosen to protect the light (this here is a bit cliché) and how they can't kill each other. I can see where the hatred between them comes from.
Anyway, it was a very good episode for me, simply because i've learned the LOST #1 rule this season - DO NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH.
There was this essay on TV.com about LOST and the mistake the producers did with making it 6 seasons, when they barely had any story to hold on for the last 3 seasons. They think it should have ended it in 2 or 3 seasons.
I completely agree, cause it was quite obvious, they kept making up the story as they filmed. None of this was planned from the beginning. None of them knew where the story lead. So they kept building a big mystery behind some stuff/people (smokey, Richard's age, Jacob and finally MiB) but they didn't have good enough story to cover it. That leads to disappointment.
All in all, i still like the way they turned to show after s3, but i think it would have been 10 times better if they did it in 3 seasons.

Planned, my arse. They said it themselves in S3 (when they did an unexpected season break) that they had to sit down and plan the story. That they didn't have a clue where it was headed. Another fact - Ben was supposed to die or to be on the show just for a couple episodes, but they liked Michael Emerson's acting and they creating the 'Ben Almighty'. Fact #2 - Jack suddenly becoming the lead proves that they changed the original plan. And the biggest proof that they didn't plan this (at least from the beginning or even before season 5) is that when you look at Season 1, 2, 3 and even 4, IT FEELS LIKE TOTALLY DIFFERENT SHOW. Other concept, other story, the characters were different... If Jacob and mr. black were this important, they would have been in LOST since the start. Not since S3 (for Jacob) or S5 (FINALLE!) for MisterBlack.

At the beginning of this season I told myself I was not going to complain about LOST's last season because, even if I ended up not liking it, it was still much better than 90% of what's shown on TV these days... Having said that, I feel disappointed about last night's episode. As Katie said, it feels like the story wasn't all planned from the beginning as the writers keep maintaining. Had the characters of Jacob and Man in Black been THAT important from the get-go, we would have had hints of them early on, like the 'light and dark sides' mentioned by Locke during season 1. For some reason one thing kept coming to my mind while watching this episode: the scene where Man in Black tells his 'mother' that he was 'special' reminded me of Walt. All along I thought Walt was going to play a MAJOR part on LOST, and I can't help thinking that he somehow was robbed of that sentence when mentioned by MIB instead. It is a pity that the writers could think of ideas to introduce an older looking Walt into the show. It wouldn't have been THAT hard of a thing to do, especially coming from a show centered in time-travelling activities! All in all, it was a poor episode which will likely bring an awesome finale. I don't expect many characters to survive, though. Maybe all of them need to die on island in order to be alive in the ALT... who knows... Not long to find out, though.

I only have two complaints with this season: 1. Why did we spend 4-5 episodes at the temple where NOTHING HAPPENED? 2. They should have told us, or at least given a major hint, what the flash sideways meant from the beginning. I don't think they did.
Otherwise, I am just along for the ride. I have no expectations. It is what it is. I think Darlton got their millions and they are laughing all the way to the bank at us fans who obsess over every detail. They have no responsiblity to give us answers about anything. The fact they have given us some is pretty big.
