So recently I just got Sony Vergas Movie Studio 7... and now that I've seen the program on my computer, everytime I think about it I get a headache. Honestly, I really don't even know where to start; how do I trim clips, how do I merge certain clips together to get a good transition, how do i play with the audio?
Does anyone know any sites or tutorials that could help me?

Well... I dont have the Movie Studio but I have the original Sony Vegas 7... I think they are the same... Well anyways, i will try to get my tutorials as good as i can make them to be: Trimming1. Click on Explorer Tab on your Media Manager Thing on the bottom left hand side. Search there for the movie file that you want. 2. Click and drag the clip into the Trimmer Tab(should be next to the Explorer Tab) 3. Using the mouse, now click and hold the clip that you want to add. Use the Preview Video to help you find your Starting and Ending Point img170.imageshack.us/img170/1974/trim1ma8.png4. Now right click the middle of the clip in blue and choose whether you are going to just add the video or the audio of the clip or both of them. img170.imageshack.us/img170/5009/trim2rh5.png5. Now click and drag it up to the Main Window where you make the video. That is all about trimming Slowing/Fasting? ClipsPerhaps the easiest thing to do. When you want to slow down a clip, hold the "Ctrl" button and click at the end of the clip that is on the Main Window and drag it to the right and you should see lines like this: (Click)When you want to add velocity to the clip, hold the "Ctrl" button and click at the end of the clip and drap it to the left and you should see lines bunched up like this: Merging Clips (For Transitions) You simply get the two clips bunched up into each other on the same track. =] Like this: img170.imageshack.us/img170/2607/mergeym7.png(Like a Manipulation of two clips) I learned this one a while back. Got it from: www.fadetonoir.net/MaskingInVegas.pdfHaving Songs/AudioSimply click on the Explorer Tab and find a song that you want to add or audio or whatever and drag it to the Main Window. If you want to trim it, you can drag it to the trimmer but you dont have to right click it if it is just audio. =] Tut. Done. =] If you need help on anything else, ehh.... just add a reply here. XP

Meep. I gots another question.
Whenever I merge the clips together during a transition, they play out really choppy- while whenever I do it on Windows Movie Maker it normally blends in well. Is there anyway to fix that?

Well in the Preview video, that always happens dont worry. Once you Render the video it plays out smoothly.

Render as? *raises eyebrow* lol, is that the same thing as saving... only... different. EDIT: I found the render as button, and I clicked it, but now, when I play the video, only part of the song plays, and the video clips that come with it don't play. *scratches head* EDIT... Again: Never mind, iactually figured it out *smirks* Thanks again loff EDIT EDIT EDIT: lol, sry, but I've got another question now. I've noticed how some people can colorize some of the clips, or just change the way they look, like people would do with an image in PSP or Photoshop. How do you do that, exactly? ;D
