I understand why lots of people hate on Ron. He can be spineless, and timid at times, and just plain average. But on the other hand, he's loyal, devoted, brave, kind, and hilarious. And I've gotten used to Ron bashers, there's no point at all in arguing with them, I mean how can you convince someone with so much hate in their eyes??? Sure, I want to punch the computer when I read some of their bile, but then I would injure myself for block heads? Not cool. The worst kind of bashers are those hating on Ron just because he got in the way of their precious ship. It's just pathetic. It's like if you were fooking reading with even half a brain, you'd see that Hermione is hopelessly, undeniably in love with Ronald. So, by extension, you're bashing her because you think the love of her life is scum and not worthy to live. Tsk, tsk.

GAH! I can't stand Ron-bashers! They just hate him because he's in the way! I mean, when paired with Hermione, he's abusive, he will beat the soul out of her, he's totally not worthy to live... And yet, when paired with someone else, he's ok. I mean, GAH!! Lol, I just remembered, when I was at Terminus conference, we were discussing Harmonians, and the mentor was talking about some things they like to say about Ron: he's unloyal, he left in DH... And then he said: "...He's abusive..." and entire hall started roaring with laughter...honestly, it took them 5 minutes to calm everyone down, it was crazy!

I HATE RON BASHERS! he isn't doing anyone any harm, is he? Ronald is the sweetest character ever! Well, saying that he has his bad days, but who doesn't?? . he is you're average teenage boy, loves sports, girls and enjoys a laugh with his friends, but stupid harmonians make him seem like a man-eating monster who abuses the girl he loves :-\. Ok so i'm ranting, I will stop now .

Exactly!! Ron=abusive is just plain hilarious! I mean when has he ever treated Hermione like that? Sure, he makes Hermione cry, but he doesn't do it intentionally. And besides, Ron's clueless when it comes to girls, and of course Hermione is extremely sensitive, especially when it comes to her feelings.

How can ANYONE hate Ron? I mean, If Ron wasn't there, Harry would still be in the Dursleys Home (CoS, anyone?)

I thought of more evidence against the Ron haters today. I think even the Ron haters won't dispute Dumbledore's importance in the HP series. When we are first introduced to Dumbledore, Harry's most important confidant, mentor, and guide, he is using the deluminator. This is the first scene in the books and the reader's introduction to the magical world. The streetlights are going out on their own--wha? Interesting, then, that when Dumbledore dies, he leaves the deluminator to Ron. This is not a coicidence. Not only did the device provide a way for Ron to return to Harry and Hermione, it is a sort of passing of the torch, as well. Dumbledore is gone, and now Ron serves as Harry's closest confidant and a sort of guide. When Ron returns, the Horcrux hunt can begin again and the trio is functioning smoothly and working together once more. Similarly, when Dumbledore is at Hogwarts, the school is functioning smoothly and everyone works together (compare with Umbridge's reign of terror). Obviously Ron doesn't fill exactly the same role in Harry's life as Dumbledore, but JKR has said that he was a sort of teacher for Harry by teaching him about love and what it means to be a good friend. More evidence, if it was even needed, that Ron haters are mental and that Ron is one of the most important characters in the series.
