I didn't see a thread about Ron and thought we should create one! Well, Ron is an awesome character. I don't have to say more.
And I hate Ron Bashers.
EXAMPLE:
From the HPFF Forums
I replied:
My dad was around while I was typing it, so I couldn't get some good words in. And Toss pump? I sound like such an idiot. I dunno what I wrote?
No one replied yet, although I'm bound to get a warning for that...as if I care.
Because as far as I'm concerned, NOBODY bashes Ron like that.

I F************ HATE RON BASHERS!!!!!! *smashes all their heads against a brick wall covered in sh*te*
Ron, to me, is the best character. If they read the books, they'd realise that, without Ron, Harry wouldn't of won against Voldy. Hufflepuff Cup. Destroying the locket.. ect. AND Ron left because he had the horcrux around his neck, and being the most vulnerable, he got affected more.
Ugh. They're so stupid.
EDIT: And without Ron, the book would be boring. I love his one-liners. Harry's too emo for Hermione.

Hey, guys, I hope you don't mind if I join the Ron-loving here. I really like Ron because he's funny and sweet. I love how cute he can be when it comes to Hermione. He's willing to do everything for her and it's sad how insecure hе feels about his qualities. At least he's not whining all the time. I guess it's more thrilling for Hermione to spend her time with him then trying to tell Harry not to worry about the world's peace so much.

From a 2008 interview with J.K. Rowling: "There are much more obvious characters to love: Hagrid, Ron, everyone loves Ron. I mean, who doesn’t like Ron?” Enough said. mugglenet.com/app/news/full_story/1497

If i should choose between Ron and Rupert,i'd prefer Ron because he is a timid guy too,but he can praise Hermione's beauty & talent, while Rupert couldn't do it to Emma. And Rupert wouldn't love "Hermione in real life" :-( *remember that old GoF interview*

The majority of that venom is spread by those who wanted Hermione paired off with someone else, so that ill will is irrational. Given the fact that Harry and Hermione were never headed toward romance, I'm even more mystified. I could understand if there was some kind of love triangle going on and folks were bitterly disappointed by the outcome, still wouldn't excuse the bashing, but at least I’d be able to understand it, that was never the case here, so I’ll forever be at a loss. Ron is made of all sorts of awesome, those who can’t or refuse to see it are depriving themselves of a wonderful character…what a shame, they truly don’t know what they’re missing.
