Guillermo Del Toro think Emma Watson is perfect for 'Beauty'

Del Toro didn't have a timeline yet for when his first draft on "Beauty and the Beast" would be done, but he said it should be within the next few years. After all, he'd need it to be done by then for leading lady Watson to still be a prime choice for the role of the titular beauty.

"It's a movie that you have to make in the next few years for Emma to be perfect for the part," he said. "I think she is the perfect character to do that movie."

I don't like that we will have to wait a bit longer to see this movie. I wanted it out sooner rather than later.

But yeah I wanted to see Emma in a new leading role soon!

I cannot wait for production of this movie to get underway. I'm sure there will be lots of photos during it. I don't like the Disney version of the movie much, but I'm sure I'll love this version since Emma's in it, and it will probably be sort of like Pan's Labyrinth which I LOVE!

Beauty and The Beast is one of my fav Disney cartoons! I am glad Emma is gonna play Belle.
Can i just go all Potter on this one and say i love how Belle/Beast's bickering and stubbornness always reminded me of RHr? Not to mention he's ginger and she has brown hair. ;D
Okay, i'll shut up. ;D

Woah, didn't notice that before Katie... But you're right! Belle and the beast did bicker all the time, but in a loving way, only cos they care for each other. I hope they'll choose Rupes for the Beast... Too soon after potter?

The beast's fur looks more brown than ginger to me, in the Disney one at least.

I LOVE Beauty and the Beast-yes Katie I am looking at my poster of Belle and Beast now -red hair all the way I am very excited to see when this movie will be and how it will be!! But Emma for Belle is the PERFECT choice Yes Rupert for Beast!!! hehe...

The movie is quite far from production and filming and all, but i'd love to know if they consider someone for the Beast at the moment.
My (unpopular) opinion is that i don't want Rupert for this role. They need to get their careers in the right way and them doing a movie together just now wont work. I will cheer for a movie with RE in 10 years or so, but def not now.
