I think the books and the films are such a bad influence, they attract attention to people who are in their teens and their early 20's. So basically it's about a girl who has no time for her friends or family because she's so obsessed with a guy. Bella gets married and has a child by the time she's 18, yeah what a great role model she is for young girls *pathetic*
I have nothing against the actors, but the franchise itself is beyond a joke.

^ That's why i want to slap all those mums who actually support the franchise... I mean, really. What kind of a 40 year old thing you should be to want your daughter to be like Bella? Talk about low intelligent morons.

I HATE TWILIGHT.
I have turned a friend completely against it. I've read all the books and I watched the first movie.
Time I'll never get back :/

I'm glad you have this thread going here... the anti-Twilight graphics you post are hilarious! I read the books recently. Needless to say that I won't be watching the movies. I had more than enough intoxication with the paper story! Bella is pathetic, yes. Apparently she's unable to survive on her own and needs a man AT ALL TIMES. Once Edward abandons her, she turns to Jacob (who at that time, was the ONLY character with a bit of personality). Edward is a stalker, yes. Not only that but he also shows other disturbing tendences when breaking down Bella's car so she cannot go and visit Jacob... Somewhat, this 'qualities' of him are so endearing to her... Arghh He's a vampire whose heart has stopped 85 years ago, cannot breath but somehow is able to produce a child... Anyway, THE WORST came when all the 'imprinting' thing came along. Not only is another werewolf in love with a 3 year old girl, but Jacob himself imprints on Rennesmee (OMG, I'm still laughing about that stupid name) after she's born. It's outrageous! Pedophilia is not something that should be promoted like Twilight does. These books deserve to be burnt.

True.
Bella is a pathetic excuse for a person. She relies completely on Edward. She is self-absorbed, entirely co-dependent, and a complete moron.
A werewolf imprints on a newborn baby. What morality, what lesson, what reasoning could possibly make this a noteworthy piece of literature?
The only saving grace of the story (and it wasn't a saving grace, but it would have added some sort of layer) was the fact that Bella (f*cking idiot) would be forced to choose between Edward, the love of her life (gag me) and a life in contact with her family, and being able to have a family of her own, and stay in contact with Jacob, the best friend that she loves.
But, alas, no. Stephenie Meyer (f*cking idiot) simply can't bear to put Bella (STEPHENIE MEYER) in any situation of loss or sacrifice. Firstly, because Bella deserve everything. Secondly, because Smeyer doesn't know how to write any emotion in her literature.
"J.K. Rowling had vivid imagination. Stephenie Meyer had a wet dream."
And that is the best sum up of what it is to compare these two people-one, an author and another, a 12-year-old daydreamer living in a 40-year-old body.
