This goes to show that - seeing that he's getting lots of roles - he's good at his acting! :-) People are wanting to cast him!

My first reaction to the rumor of this was wait and see. Not too excited to be honest. Then I started really thinking about it and seeing more about how Eddie is seen. Now, I'm really excited. I think it will be a nice vehicle. Really almost anything is great after the HP movies. Just get out there and work. I think this film has much potential to be quite touching. I do believe the director is taking the more-than-slapstick angle on this. Here's what he and Coogan (the previous Eddie actor) had to say at Time Out London in an old interview: "Declan Lowney, whose previous TV credits include 'Father Ted' and 'Little Britain', will direct the comedy, and he has this to say on the subject: ‘ Eddie the Eagle achieved hero status by turning conventional aspirations on their head. He became the people’s champion through his determination to achieve his mad dreams. This human emotion will strike a chord with audiences everywhere.’ Adding his two cents' worth, Coogan said ‘I’m very excited at the prospect of playing Eddie Edwards. His story is a very British story and he is a very British kind of hero. Although he never brought home a medal he succeeded on a very personal, human level. He may not have impressed the Olympic judges but he won the hearts and minds of people round the world.' Author: Chris Tilly --------------------------------------------------------------------------

I read a comment recently that said he is the Harrison Ford of the trio, and I can't tell you how many times the same thought crossed my mind. The parallels are pretty amazing.
Both part of a trio in an epic series. Both played the sidekick who elevates to reluctant hero. Both turned out to be big-time scene stealers.
I think Rupert, like Harrison, is headed toward making a big name for himself in his own right.

I do think that he is making the best choices with his films and that he will actually become the most famous out of the trio for his acting anyway.

Something from ss.com
We've spoken to Rupert's publicists and, according to Rupert's agent, there is no script approved and no deal in place yet.
So this means it's not official.... yet?

Yes, Kat, not official.
So weird though, I think in SS I read someone involved with the movie -the director?- saying how great it was to have Rupes, or something.
So itll probably be a done deal soon.....
