That's the same as my friend, she'll only go and see it with me because Jackson Rathbone is in it. xD S'alright, Simba. It's only natural to be so worried about all the reviews its been getting after looking forward to it for so long, but trust me - go in, watch the film and make you're own opinion. If you love it, that's great! If you end up disliking it, then so be it. After all, we still have the amazing and epic anime series, plus the Legend of Korra to look forward to (which the creators are going to make an announcement on soon!). On another note, I've completely contradicted my previous post and read some reviews, and they do seem to be very mixed. But overall I'm not worried. Come August 13th I'll be able to make my own mind up.

the Legend of Korra to look forward to (which the creators are going to make an announcement on soon!). Wait, what?! I did read some fan's reviews though, and they said that Sokka isn't funny at all, and they ruined his and Iroh's characters.

Quote: Iroh's anime character wouldn't translate well onto film, they had to make him more grounded. I've read some reviews that say Shaun Toub did an amazing job at playing Iroh. As for Sokka, it's the same sorta thing - too much humour in the film would result in the audience not taking the film seriously. Lets just hope that the funny, more light-hearted Sokka scenes we've seen in the trailer and tv-spots get kept in. It's what happens when something gets turned into a film. Look at Harry Potter for example, the trio aren't exactly the same as they are in the books, just vague reflections of them. Avatar fans are going to be protective of the characters they know and love from the series, it's normal. People going into the cinema expecting everything to be exactly the same (e.g. the costumes, the characters personalities, Katara's hair loopies) are obviously going to be slightly disappointed/annoyed.

But those fans are the close-minded ones, the reviews I read were from actual critics, ne? By the way, I completely agree about the HP trio thing, the movies barely show a fourth of their true complete personalities - they don't show about Hermione's insecurity about failure, they don't show Ron's insecurities about being overshadowed by his brothers, they don't show Harry as the complex being he is, just as a normal, everyday boy. Er....sorry, very offtopic. But, yeah, I suppose the film could be good if we look at it as a movie on its own and not as an adaption of a TV show. Like some of the HP films - heck, even HBP is a good film by itself. (EVEN THE CRITICS AGREE. ) By the way, Comic Con is July 22nd right? That DOES = announcement any day now! ;D What d'you reckon? Kataang kid? New Avatar way ahead of Aang? Or a prequel? I'm hoping it's a Kataang kid cause I want the old Gaang back.

thing is i disagree with critics a lot, you just have to watch and judge for yourself whether or not a film is good

^True that. I've seen a couple of bad reviews for OoTP and I didn't agree with them, I guess it all comes down to what you think of it.
