Okay so heres the story.
I'm moving to London from Canada in about two weeks to go traveling in Europe and just to get away from university for a little while, so I've been looking online at places. I was on Craigslist and I found this really great offer for a relatively inexpensive place from this couple who needs a caretaker, so I emailed them and they were very responsive and everything and great... But I got pictures of the place and it seems WAY too nice for the price they are giving me. They want me to send them the first two months rent which in Canadian dollars is about $1400.00, or 880 Euros, before I leave. Like they want me to send it to them as soon as possible because they have relocated to the USA and took all the housing stuff, like keys and documents, with them. They want me to pay them so they can send by courier all the housing stuff so upon arrival in London I can just go straight there.
My question is this: Does this seem like a scam to everyone else, or is it just me? Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm not saying it is a scam, but you're definitely putting yourself out there by sending that much money ahead. Can you ask if they're willing to take half up front and half when you get there?

Be careful of stuff on Craig's List, kt. I've heard a lot of people get scammed on there.
