what traditions are in your country to celebrate New year? In mine, when it's 12 o' clock, There are people running around their neighborhood, or the most traditional is eat twelve grapes, asking a wish for each month of the new year... and a lot more

Happy 2008!!! In here we gather at some family house, we eat and eat like if it was the last dinner, and then we make a toast at 12 o clock, and then we go to the balcony or street to watch the fireworks for like 20 minutes, and then maybe keep eating some "holydays food" like penaut covered in chocolate, nougat candy, puding and more. And then some people go celebrate with friends to the river, and yes, get drunk too.

my dad was trying to make me drink 12 drops of champagne. lol (he is drunk right now). It is incredibly disgusting. Smells like apple cider, but taste NOTHING like it. Ew.

Happy New Year everyone!! -Emma-, same here. UK = getting drunk off your face Although all I did last night was watch the fireworks from my room as I can see the city from the window, then watched Gilmore Girls. lol Party animal or what? Although I had a blonde moment and actually thought it was 2009 for 10 mins until my sister told me it was 2008 lol

^^ Haha Laura! Happy 2009! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! Have a good year with hopefully lots of great R/E moments! In Holland it's mostly the same: Watch the fireworks, party all night and get drunk. But I didn't see that much of the fireworks, I didn't party and I didn't drank that much. So also not that much of a party-animal The weather over here was just really bad, there was so much fog and the smoke of the fireworks made it even worse. My friends and I seriously couldn't see each other if we were standing 5 meters apart! It was freakin' cold and so scary outside, because we couldn't see a thing. So we went inside pretty soon... Anyway I still had fun! Hope you all had fun too!
