I don't know why, but I don't think the kiss she shared with Ron was her first. Granted if Rowling were to post on her site tomorrow that Hermione never kissed Krum then I will gladly eat my own words. I doubt it would've been anything like Ron's kisses with Lavender, but I do think Hermione would've had that physical, if you will, experience. Something like Harry's kiss with Cho is what I imagined.

Yeah,as long as there is NO kiss in HP would beat Ron-Hermione kiss (es?),i will be relieve:-)

Yeah, it was defaintely not a make-out session. Me thinks Krum was a gentleman, and gave her a peck, or something along those lines, but not Ron/Lavender kissing. Nooo way, haha.
I'm just thinking where? Hmm, maybe he walked her to Gryffindor Tower, to the portrait and gave her a small goodnight kiss. Then ran in to tell Ginny, haha.

Well, my theory is this:
Ginny and Michael meet. Perhaps they snog, but I don't think so, possibly Ginny just likes him. So Ginny tells Hermione there's something she should tell her and goes up to the common room. Hermione tells Viktor she wants to go up, already a bit upset about Ron's outburst. He agrees and walks her to the portret. THEN he gives her the kiss, and she is all flustered. She goes in, and to her surprise finds Ron waiting for her to come back. They have their heated argument and Hermione runs upstairs to Ginny and they talk about everything, and that's when she tells her about the kiss....
Well, I know it's complicated, but I think that's a posibility...

I am not sure when they kissed, maybe one of those times when they were in the library or after the Tri-Wizard task where Hermione was the thing that Krum would miss most. (Heck, I'd kiss a guy after I found out he'd miss me more than anyone else in the world!)
But I have a theory that they kissed more than once. Hermione and Krum were teenagers with hormones, and like Liann said, she was swept away. I think Hermione was nearly as experienced as Ron when it came to kissing. I don't think she and Krum had full-on face-eating sessions like Ron and Lav-Lav, but she had done enough snogging to know that the way those two were going at it was gross and wrong. LOL
Also, I can't find the interview now, but I think in an interview JKR said she wanted all of the characters to have romantic experience with other people before they ended up with the person they were supposed to marry. The way it was said indicated to me that there was a little more going on with Krum. Just my opinion.

Harry, Ginny and Ron all had it, to what extent Hermione's experience was though I don't know, one goodnight kiss? a few goodnight kisses? It probably doesn't matter, but her regular hints to Ron that she's "interested," i.e this kiss on the cheek before the quidditch match, inviting him to Slughorn's party, and even asking out Mclaggen. To me, that behaviour indicates a kind of confidence which has been gained due to some prior experience. And even the way she threw herself at Ron when they did kiss, I mean, I know it was a 'now or never moment' that would not have been stalled by silly insecurities, such one's ability to kiss, but that passage reads as though Hermione had some idea of what she was doing - not a complete amateur IMO. |
