Ron and Hermione obviously felt something...a connection, the moment they laid eyes on each other. They just didn't realize it. Maybe Hermione did, but Ron realized he had feelings for hermione in GOF when he saw hermione in a different light. His feelings gradually increased and in HBP he realized he was in love. In DH, during the locket scene, he realized that he needed Hermione in his life. He couldn't live without her. Hermione realized before. Maybe POA? Because she had a choice when she hugged Ron. But they fell in love the moment they saw each other without realizing.

i don't believe in love at first sight. lol sorry. To love someone, you need to spend time with them and get to know them. I def believe in lust at first sight lol But i think ginny liked harry the first time at the burrow when she saw him , then grew into a mature loving and respectful relationship during HBP. As for r/hr, i don't think they loved at first sight either, though i think they both liked each other from the start. Obviously, they both liked then loved each other BEFORE they realized it. IMO, Hermione realized she loved him during Gof, and ron not until his relationship with lavender was ending, because he realized he needed hermione. Remember in the hospital wing when harry came in and told him to stop pretending to be asleep when lav came to visit? Then ron asked if hermione was coming to see him. So, really i think lavender/ron relationship was a GOOD thing for r/hr, because it helped them find each other. Couldn't agree more Pat! *exalts*

Ok, for me, Ginny was. She loved Harry from the moment she saw him, and you can see that. She even writes him that love poem in her first year. (Which is Harry's second year) Harry, no. He probably developed feelings for Ginny maybe late 5th year, or 6th year. (Poor Ginny, lol.)
As for Ron and Hermione, no. As much as i'd love to say they did, I doubt it. BUT I think that in first year, they're relationship might of developed into a crush, but not love. I'd say it was a crush, until about 4th year, maybe. Ron saw her, as someone else wrote in another comment, "in a different light", all dressed up, and with another guy, and started to feel more for her. You know what Ron's like, he's shallow. He's all about looks, I mean, look at all his past girlfriends and crushes; Fleur & Lavender.. ect.
But yes, Ron. I'd say 4th year, but he was unsure on his feelings. I think he recognised it was love by 6th year, mid-relationship with Lavender. Hermione, she knew she loved him by 4th year, atleast. End of 4th year, or whatever. She even shouted it at him, but you now.. it's Ron. You need to shout everything at him for hmi to understand.
And at the start of Deathly Hallows, and after his break-up with Lavender, you notice that they're more relaxed around eachother. E.G arms around shoulders and hand holding. But, them being them, they still wont act upon it.
That's my 2 cents. If any of it made sense.

Alright, well I think personally that Ginny admired Harry so much from the start from the stories she heard, but as soon as she started to hang out and spend more time with him she fell deeper and deeper until she was so into him.But as soon Harry met Cho, all hell broke lose for Ginny. She wasn't gonna just allow herself not to be the apple of Harry's eye she waited until year 6 [her yr5] and bam she made Harry jealous by dating Dean, and Harry saw Ginny in a diff light. So yah they had to realize it not just feel it right then and there.
Ron and Hermione is a totally a diff story because as soon as they saw eachother they convince themselves that they hated eachother, but deep down inside they liked eachother. I think we got a real hint in the PoA, holding hands and choosing Ron to hug is kinda obvious.Obviously the biggest hint in the movies is when Ron gets jealous of Krum and Hermione. But he still has himself convince that he doesn't like her, until the 6th movie they both realize they can't lie to themselves anymore.

Was it love at first sight for Ron/Hermione? They were 11-years-old and didn't like each other at first. Comparing that to Romeo's and Juliet's first meeting, I'd say that's a definite no.
